​The following Full Body Detox is intended for the individual who is interested in cleansing his/her body using ancient, natural techniques. I would never recommend someone use these techniques if they are uncertain of the safety and effectivity they will have on their body. In other words, do your research and make an informed decision based on your own unique situation. Make sure to take into consideration your current health and determine for yourself if you think these techniques for cleansing will be helpful or if they could possibly cause more harm.  If you're someone like myself who has struggled with auto-immune disease, or is simply looking for preventive care, and you are interested in using a completely natural,  drug-free, holistic approach, you may find the following information useful. 

FULL BODY DETOX
​Why focus toxic cleansing on the colon, kidneys and liver? The colon, kidneys and liver are the primary elimination organs – they eliminate waste and toxins from your body. If they are not functioning properly, there is likely a buildup of toxins in your body cannot eliminate. Toxic cleansing of these organs and ridding your body of parasites is key to keep them healthy.

REMEMBER  to ALWAYS  do a colon cleanse then kidney cleanse, and liver cleanse last.


5 DAY CLEANSE 
Plan ahead. Make sure you've carved out an entire week for low energy expenditure while you cleanse. If you run or like to hit the gym you can use this body cleanse as a break for your muscles, ligaments and joints to fully heal and recover. You'll probably come back feeling stronger!

DAY 1 - GO CLEAN
1.  Start drinking plenty of clean, filtered, FLUORIDE-FREE water! Do this everyday and preferably forever!  I bring my GLASS jugs to Whole Foods weekly and refill with alkaline water.  
2.  Remove toxins, added sugar, and processed foods from your diets.
3.  Intermittent Fasting. Eat your meals between the hours of 12 pm and 7 pm.
4.  Minimal exercise. I will use this as time to focus on work or housecleaning and at most walking the dog.
5. Take a complete enzyme supplement with every meal. You should do this anyway, especially if you bloat often.
6.  Eat organic raw fruits and veggies!
Apples are high in malic acid which help soften gall stones for removal.  Eat bananas and other potassium rich foods to help cleanse the liver.  Here's a favorite detox salad recipe of mine.

Lauren's Raw and Delicious Detox Salad
  • Shredded beets (1/2 c)
  • Shredded carrots (1/2 c)
These two ingredients should make up most of the salad.
  • Dandelion greens (preferred), sprouts, or arugula (1 c)
  • Avocado (1/2)
  • Walnuts (1/4 c)
  • Fresh oregano (1 sprig)
  • Liquid Aminos (to taste)
  • Supplemental hemp oil (usually found in the refrigeration section of the vitamin department at health food stores) (1 tbsp)
  • Flackers (flax crackers) (handful)

Maintain this regimen and a 80-100% organic, raw vegan diet throughout the cleanse as best as possible. Remember, you got this!

DAY 2 - START COLON CLEANSE
The large intestine excretes chemical (solid) waste so that it isn't recirculated into the bloodstream. It holds protective bacteria called the microbiome. The colon needs to get rid of old stool in order assist in detox for the rest of the body. If you feel you have toxic build-up in your colon, you can cleanse by increasing soluble and insoluble fibers, water, probiotics, and with supplementation like gentle herbal or salt laxatives. Drinking bentonite clay has been reported to help pull out toxins like heavy metals.

1.  Continue instructions from DAY 1.

2.  Start coffee enemas.
​
Coffee enemas are for health maintenance and as a potent prevention tool given how toxic world has become. It can be used for recovery from autoimmune disease as well, and other degenerative ailments.

Coffee enemas relieve constipation, reduce fatigue, and help in liver detoxification. They flush old debris from the colon and stimulate the lower portion of the large intestine that, in turn, will increase bile flow and jump-starting the gallbladder and liver to produce glutathione. Glutathione is a chemical that helps to release the buildup of toxins in your body.

​The Enema dates back as far as Ancient Egypt times. Amongst the earliest known documents are medical documents which describe enemas in detail (Edwin Smith Papyrus- circa 1600 BC;  Ebers Papyrus- circa 1550 BC).  Additionally, Hippocrates (500 BC,), the Father of Western Medicine, and his Ancient Greek followers advocated the use of the enema for health maintenance.  

Here are a few benefits to cleansing your colon with a coffee enema:
  • Detoxifies the liver
  • Provides energy boost
  • kills parasites
  • Clean out the colon
  • Improves digestion
  • Heal auto-immune and other health issues
  • Relieve migraines/headaches.
  • Reduces toxins in the body
  • Increases glutathione (a key detoxifier)

Here’s what you’ll need.
  • Organic coffee (preferably green coffee - https://www.amazon.com/)
  • Filtered water
  • Enema kit - I'm a fan of this brand https://www.aussiehealthco.com/
  • Coffee maker/strainer + pot/french press 
  • Coconut oil

Coffee enemas detox colon and the liver as well  Do this before 12:00PM so the caffeine does not keep you awake all night (it's happened to me more than once)! Here's the process.
  1. Cook 2 Tbsp of organic coffee on the stove-top with 2 cups of filtered water. You can also use a french press or coffee maker.
  2. Strain coffee and discard the coffee grounds.
  3. Place brewed, mildly warm coffee into the enema bag.
  4. Add filtered water if needed.
  5. Hang enema bag above bathtub. 
  6. If you have low blood sugar, eat an apple before you do the enema.
  7. Do this in the bathtub or on a thick towel on the floor near the toilet in case you leak.
  8. Light a candle and put on soft music (search Satnum Kaur on youtube) to relax your body so you can enjoy the process. Put some coconut oil on a tissue and spread it onto your butt hole, where you are inserting the enema.
  9. Insert the enema into the colon and retain it for 15-20 minutes. NOTE: You won’t be able to hold it for this long the first few times you do an enema because you’ll have SO much junk inside of you so get ready to hit the toilet after only a few minutes. You’ll gradually work up to 15-20 minutes.
  10. Release on the toilet and flush.
  11. Stay close to the toilet for the next 30 minutes or so just in case you need to release more from your colon.
  12. Drink lots of purified water mixed with sea salt (through your mouth) or bone broth to hydrate yourself throughout the day so you don’t get dehydrated.

Don't like putting things in your butt? Can't say I blame you. Either way, here are foods and supplements that support colon detoxification. Incorporate them into your cleanse.
  • Flax
  • Chia seeds
  • Probiotic foods (sauerkraut, kimchi, apple cider vinegar)
  • Raw fruits and vegetables: roots vegetables like sweet potatoes, beets, turnips;   apples and raspberries
  • Psyllium Husk. You can drink it with water or put it in a smoothie.
  • Aloe vera
  • Dandelion Greens
  • Magnesium Glycinate
  • Clean, alkaline water

DAY 3 - KIDNEY CLEANSE

2. Start kidney cleanse.
The role of the two kidneys is to flush waste and toxins from your blood by turning it into urine after it's cleaned by the liver. The kidneys flush water-soluble waste in response to water and electrolyte concentrations.
It's recommended to drink at least two quarts of water while detoxing. You can also consume greens herbs and teas, which are weak diuretics that promote kidney detox without unbalancing your electrolytes.
Some foods work to flush the kidneys and reduce blood pressure, and others act as renal tonics to flush extra toxins and prevent bacteria buildup.
Foods that support kidney flush:
  • Water
  • Parsley
  • Cilantro
  • Green tea
  • Nettle

Renal tonic foods:
